FOUR MIRACLES THIS WEEK!
So In Korea, It’s a big thing to put English Ad’s up on polls around the city. That and street proselyting are the biggest time fillers in country areas like mine. BUT In Seosan our ads have continued to be mysteriously ripped down or all the tabs ripped off. Literally like 3 days after putting up some fresh ads, the tabs are gone. The thing is… NO ONE CALLS US! So we think it’s either a church (because there are so many here) or another English teaching place that is jealous of our FREE ENGLISH. So recently, the ads aren’t being ripped down as often and… WE GET CALLS!!!
Remember I told you about the lady we met in the Kosa Mart? Well first, we met with her. She is the nicest most AMAZING woman I have met! She has two sons and her husband died seven years ago, but she is still so strong! And she is the fun mom that lot’s of children want. Her name is Choi InOk. I LOVE HER!
Next we got a call from an English ad. Her English name is Daniella and she speaks nearly PERFECT English. Over the phone we thought she was maybe in her 20’s… Nope she’s my mom’s age!!! Her English voice sounds young… CRAZY She is really into the English though, so even our Gospel half is in English, but it’s better than not teaching her. And it’s okay because her comprehension is perfect. And even better, she enjoys talking about religion!
One of our English class attendees is named Sister Heo NamChoon. She explained about a month ago that she was going to America to visit her daughter. (Her English is also AMAZING) She asked us what we miss most from America…. we told her butterfingers. So she came back, explained that it will become hard for her to attend the class, but that she wants to feed us lunch often. She is always at home alone. Her daughter is married and lives in Washington State and her son is a year younger than me and attends a college in Seoul (Her husband doesn’t even know about the church, but keeps trying to convince their son to attend BYU Provo because he thinks it’s a good fit) Her husband is always at work or out with coworkers. So she wants company! So in meeting with her we expected her to just want to speak English right? SHE DIDNT SPEAK AN OUNCE OF ENGLISH the WHOLE day!! So therefore we talked a lot about the gospel. She is really open to religion and currently is interested in Buddhism… we’ll change that 🙂
My last miracle is Sister Choi KangWeon. She called off an English ad also. She just wants friends because she is a young mom and doesn’t know many people. So we came over and taught a little English. She proceeded to tell us that she cant concentrate well so 15 minutes of English and 15 minutes of Gospel would be better. BUT when we finished the whole meeting, she said “forget the English. I just really miss hearing about the gospel and I love your words so let’s just do gospel from no on!” MIRACLE!!!! She grew up in the baptist church and got baptised in in in high school, but then she got married and had two kids and she stopped attending. But now she feels like she could attend. (She has a 3 month old boy and a 22 month old girl) I can see some great progress with her!! She’s going to come to church next week too!!!
So this week has just been super busy, and we found 4 new investigators, so now we have 8! We also met a lady who is good a English on the street. She stopped her car (nearly in an intersection) just to talk to us! And proceeded to give us a ride to our member’s house. She told us to come over any time! So maybe another investigator soon? Well I hope you all have a great week!! Thanks for the support and reading my email!! Bye!
