담대함 Be Bold!

Standard
This week was a little better than last week. But I have some sad news… Our little SeoYeon hasn’t been coming to church. She has started to attend church with her friend. It’s more fun and she gets candy. So this Monday was our last time doing Family Home Evening with the Branch President’s family. We taught about Sabbath day and had the kids rip up the papers that had pictures of not okay things to do. Then they coloured the good things to do on the Sabbath. I will miss seeing SeoYeon each week.

We were able to meet with Park HyeYoung. We passed by her family’s store and she invited us in!! It was great! We didn’t have much planned because we didn’t think she could meet that day, but the Lord knows where His children are. We learned that she can meet better if we just show up. And she said it is easier for her to refer people to us that way because friends always stop by her store. I learned some sad new though. Her store is in really big financial debt. So we told her that we would pray for her. And bore testimony about how if she came to church God might bless her too and help her family. She has a hard time coming to church because it is so far away.

We also visited Kim DoYeon this week! I love her! She is so sweet. This week we read Alma 29 together. We talked also about how important the scriptures (Book of Mormon) are and how important going to church is. I think it really helped her get into it. We really want her to get into the Book of Mormon and get her interested about it. She’s progressing, I just hope we can keep her long enough. Missionaries before us in 2007 found her first. Then after 3 months, she dropped them. Then there is another record in 2010. after 4 months… dropped. So now it’s us. I really love her and hope she can change and see how our gospel makes a difference in her life. She’s such a great mom and family person. The Gospel will be great in her life when she accepts it.

As for other news, Our English class is getting a lot better! More people are attending!
We went to a different city this week called TaeAn. It has a fun “beach-like” feel to it. We were going to go to AnMyeonDo (Do = Island) today but it’s rainy. So maybe next week. The island is a part of TaeAn. We also went to a different part of Seosan this week. Both days were a bust. No one and nothing was there. And I got a blister 😦 Ew sorry….

An old lady asked Sister Deus and I if we were Vietnamese…

District meeting!!!! It’s the beginning of a transfer (week 3) and this last week our new and fresh District leader gave his first training. His name is Jung KiHyeon he is the cutest! And SO SO FUNNY! And such a great District leader. This week he taught about 담대함 (tahm-dae-ham) which means BOLDNESS!!! Boldness is a firm strong knowledge and the ability to act in every situation. Why do we need it? Because if we are not BOLD, other people wont see a need for or want our message! They will just see us as a religion and not a lifestyle. They wont take our words or commitments seriously.
Boldness is not a screaming or shouting type. It is not where we say “YOU MUST REPENT!” “하라!” Boldness is a firmness with our words and with our actions. Boldness can be quiet. The Holy Ghost is bold. He prompts very firmly and directly that if we hear it and do not follow, it is us ignoring that feeling, not a lack of boldness from the Holy Ghost.

A missionary without boldness is useless. If we aren’t bold, those we talk to and teach will go nowhere. I personally struggle with confidence, therefore I am not bold 😦 Because of this wonderful district meeting, Sister Deus and I have new goals to talk to everyone and really “teach when we find” (PMG!) We also need new investigators. So hopefully we can be BOLD in all we do! And to all you members out there, BE BOLD! Proclaim your faith! Talk to everyone! I am the happiest I have ever been here in Korea because I am not serving my self and I am talking about my gospel all day all week.

I LOVE this gospel, and I really appreciate this experience. Have a good day everyone! Thank you for the support!
